Free This Long Weekend? Check out BassBus!

I stumbled upon this event a few weeks back and sadly can't attend as I've got family in town. This is definitely something worth checking out if you've got some spare time this weekend, and it seems like a such great idea! They will be having a market at the Arrata Opera House on July 2nd and there's tonnes of great local designers, jewelers, artists and musicians lined up with tickets only $20 in advance and $25 at the door. It's their first event and they're raising money and awareness for future events to support local artists! Photos of the bus look amazing(you can view them on their Facebook page. Link is below!) as they've got it covered in some really stunning art and graffiti. You can check out their Facebook page HERE or read a feature the Art Gallery of Calgary did here.

Big Changes!

I am not going to say much, but I've got some big big ideas for this blog! I've partnered up with a good friend of mine, Ivanka (of Ivanka Tanafranca Designs), and we're going to be making a few changes to the layout and objective of the blog. There's also going to be a name change, since it's not just me anymore! I'm not sure if this is going to cause some confusion to those who follow along, but we'll be launching the new blog layout in time for Canada Day so check back soon!

MaNoKin Runway

Today I packed up my camera and went into Calgary. After checking out the Market Collective and wandering around downtown Ivanka and I went to the MaNoKin Design show, Cirque Du Manique. The venue was amazing and had seating for everyone, so my feet managed to come home blister free! There were cupcakes, a popcorn machine, and a fortune teller (who told us "not to settle"). All of the servers wore circus-y outfits and the food was great! The waitresses were always coming around with different finger foods to try. So yummy! The show was really well put together in my opinion, and there were so many things I would have loved to take home. Everything seemed so wearable, whether it be a night on the town or to the office. I loved almost everything that came out! I snapped a ton of photos but, being the first show I've taken photos of, not all of them turned out to be winners. I've only got a small sampling of what was shown, and sadly I missed a lot of the more amazing pieces. All in all the show was great, and I'm so happy I got to go!

My Kind Of Documentary

I just came across this and had to post it! It's a documentary about why women love shoes so much, with appearances from Fergie, Dita Von Tesse and Christian Louboutin. I have a feeling this would greatly benefit Jason (and every other man on the planet), since he's always so confused about why my unworn shoes are taking over his closet space. Definitely looking forward to seeing this!

Another Marvelous Vintage Find!

My art festival plans were foiled by the rain, and resulted in my own laziness. There was no way I was going to get dressed up and take photos in the cold! However, for the first time in what feels like weeks, the sun is out! As promised, here are the photos of my third thrifty purchase. This one is by far my favorite. While taking photos I stopped every once and a while to check on my progress. I was so pleased with myself... until I got home to see them. Some bug landed on my lens and ruined most of my photos! Here I was, all proud, because I figured these were way better then my last pictures. Not so much. Nature fooled me once again!

I am well aware of the fact that sunglasses are not for me. Just like hats, I (somehow) cannot pull them off. Regardless, I love my sunnies. A Christmas gift from Jason and they're Ray Ban's! Can't argue with that...

First off, this rock is hilarious. It's where I went to take my photos today and behind it is the old abandoned highway.
Second, imagine me (all of 5'2) climbing over this rock (towering in at4'2 ish) in a dress, carrying my tripod, camera, purse ect. Ya....
And last. You commented?! People actually commented on my posts?! Thank you so so much! I was out taking these photos when my kind Blackberry notified me of this and I nearly cried I was so happy/excited. I send out the most massive hugs to anyone who has not only left me a comment, but who has even just taken the time to glance over my page :)
